My husband raced all over the world for them in the Formula 1 series when Evinrude was part of Outboard Marine Corporation. He also did a demonstration of the rotary motor on Lake Landau, Germany for Dr Wankel.
Those were the days, my friend.
In the 1960’s my father got a 6hp Evinrude to push our 11 foot aluminum boat. Used it for over 20 years. I remember when they manufactured snowmobiles.
OMC was also the original manufacturer of Lawn-Boy mowers, beginning right after WWII. The brand was sold to The Toro Company in 1989.
PFFT!!! That is utterly ridiculous. The Evinrude ETEC is the most technologically advanced line of outboard engines in existence. The motor scooter brands (and black anchor Mercury, for that matter) can't begin to compete with the ETEC in terms of performance/weight.
The issue here is Bain Capitol sucking all of the cash out of BRP. Hopefully some other corporate interest will come along and make BRP an offer they can't refuse.
That’s so cool, Aria! I would have loved to have seen that! Thank you for sharing. Have you ever seen the JetBoat racing? It’s still kind of new in the USA, but I did a show about it a few years ago. You guys should Google it, if not. I think you’d get a kick out of it. Love from Colorado.
