Most of the wealthy HK people already have escape plans: dual citizenship with other countries such as Canada, Australia, England (not sure what your rules are in the US). Vancouver and Toronto have huge HK Chinese populations, and many people still living in HK have relatives (and often real estate) in those cities and others around the world.

Partner, most of the folks have either already moved to another country and have bought a home or townhome or they are contemplating on leaving quickly before the Chicoms really get a hold of Hong Kong.

You are very correct in assessing the situation in Hong Kong.

This will mean that Hong Kong can not and will not become a Major Financial Center in the world.

The Brits built up Hong Kong and now they have to literally give it away to the Chicoms. Truly sad in my book.
