MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) An incident report by the Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) is shedding more light on what occurred in George Floyds fatal arrest.
Released by the city Wednesday, the report describes confusion as the fire department responded to the scene to assist medical personnel.
Before arriving, the only information the fire crew had was that Floyd, called pt in the report, had trauma to his mouth. Fire Station 17 of Minneapolis then arrived at Cup Foods to multiple police squads on scene and a small crowd of citizens.
The report says while MFD attempted to locate Floyd, several people told them that the police had killed the man. There was no clear info on Floyds whereabouts from either initial police officers or bystanders.
The report says MFD was finally able to locate an officer inside the store, who told them that Hennepin Healthcare medics loaded Floyd into an ambulance and left the scene.
Meanwhile, the fire crew did locate an off-duty firefighter who witnessed the end of the struggle, and said that he saw Floyd go from struggling to unresponsive on the ground while handcuffed and subdued by police.
Dispatch then notified the fire crew that the medics needed assistance and they responded to 36th and Park Avenue.
Two of the fire crew members got into the ambulance. At that time, medics had a chest compression device working on an unresponsive, pulseless Floyd. The fire crew members assisted medics and accompanied them to Hennepin Healthcare, where life-saving attempts were continued.
Medics performed pulse checks several times, finding none, and delivered one shock by their monitor. [Floyds] condition did not change, the report said.
Floyd was pronounced dead at Hennepin Healthcare.
Floyd, 46, died Monday night after being pinned to the ground while handcuffed with an officers knee on his neck. Floyds fatal arrest, which was caught on video, has prompted national attention and protests some peaceful, some violent in Minneapolis.

E17 was started code-two to assist EMS on a call, then updated to code-three. Pre-arrival info stated only that pt had trauma to his mouth. E17 arrived at Cup Foods (38th & Chicago) with multiple squads on scene and small crowd of citizens. As 17s attempted to locate the patient, the crew overheard and was told by several people that the police 'had killed the man.' Bystanders were upset but not unruly. No clear info on pt or location was given by either initial pd officers or bystanders. Crew finally located an officer inside the store who stated HCMC medics had loaded the patient and relocated from the scene. E17 encountered an off-duty firefighter who had witnessed the end of the struggle and witnessed the pt go from struggling to unresponsive on the ground while handcuffed and subdued by PD. Dispatch notified E17 that medics needed Fire code-three, and E17 relocated to 36th & Park Ave.
Two crew members got in ambulance. Medics had Lucas device working on an unresponsive, pulseless male. Pt had advanced airway secured; E17 took over ventilations and also assisted medics getting IV and meds prepared. Crew accompanied medics to HCMC STAB room, continuing w/ ministrations. Medics performed pulse checks several times, finding none, and delivered one shock by their monitor. Pt's condition did not change. E17 helped get pt into STAB room, continuing ventilations until relieved by ER staff.
Killed after he was handcuffed and already subdued. Quite a disturbing video.
I suspect he expired about the time his bladder voided. You can see it running out from under the vehicle.
new info
Hard to watch that video.
The cops just killed him, crushed out his life without any sign of humanity.
Cops like this must live in constant fear of ‘karma’ coming back around to even up.

Fire Department report: As he lay in ambulance, George Floyd was unresponsive, without pulse
How about a life in prison.
Inmates will take care of those cops.
Call it Karma call it street justice coming a bit too late.
The disturbing part is the other cops standing around not doing crap.
I suspect he expired about the time his bladder voided. You can see it running out from under the vehicle.
Yeah, thats a sign the bodys autonomic system has shut down.
This man was murdered in broad daylight with many witnesses recording the event from close proximity. This had to be some type of psychological issue. Cops are taught to assume control of a situation and never relinquish it but this was beyond the pale. He just stayed there with his knee on the man’s neck for several long minutes and the oddest thing was he had his hands in his pockets. That was the most bizarre part. NOBODY teaches that during any type of physical altercation you should put your hands in your pockets. Did he kill this man just to defy the onlookers who were demanding he get his knee off the guy’s neck? Did he intend to kill the guy from the beginning? This has to be one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen where this guy completely ignores the crowd of witnesses and just calmly, with his hands in his pockets, murders the suspect. I am at a loss as to what I saw.

Y’know, when you watch the face of the one who killed him, there’s not much there - it’s like a blank, soulless look. Almost a confused look - as if he doesn’t know what he’s doing, where he is or even who he is. Just weird and a more than a bit creepy.
EXACTLY! That’s the point I was trying to make too. It’s like he was somewhere else. He just mindlessly murdered the guy all the while keeping his hands in his pockets. VERY WEIRD.
He pulled his hand out of his pocket to use his taser at one point. That was why his hand was in his pocket. He was ready to tase ANYONE that tried to stop him.
One of the bystanders got to close to him and he pulled something out of his pocket and everyone scattered.
Man, that was hard to watch. The dude with his knee on Floyd’s neck needs to be arrested. I think the Asian looking kid knew what was going on and was really scared, but was looking to keep the crowd back. Just a sad sad situation.
Yeah I dont understand that
Especially in era of smartphones.
I’m surprised they weren’t shooting into his windows. I won’t say he’d deserve it, but I’d say... I could understand the reaction.
The Asian Cop has a history from 2017 of excessive force and there was a settlement out of court for his actions!
Yup. At some point in the proceedings, the cop on top of him decided “I’m going to murder this guy.”
