DOJ seems to be doing the right thing for the wrong reason, if I’m reading this correctly. They want it vetoed because it doesn’t do the things that they wanted. If I recall, they didn’t really change anything.

BUT
They lose the three “key” provisions which expire and disappear. i.e roving wiretaps within the U.S
The FBI will not be pleased no matter how much the DOJ try and sugar coat it.
So yes, it’s a win!
