This virus from bats has more affinity to ACE 11 receptors in humans than its original host in bats. That is the portal to the cell for the virus. It should be noted that though different mammals all have ACE II receptors they are not identical. It is totally impossible for a cross species infection to have more affinity to its new host as compared to its original.
This original bat virus was manipulated to become a bio weapon for humans. It was not unleashed on the world by intention. It was an accident of the lab due to poor procedures.
