The dog was running in an area set aside as a nature area and clearly posted with “No Dogs” signs everywhere. The privileged Karens ignore the leash laws (except for certain enclosed areas, dogs are supposed to be on leash in Central Park) and even the no-dog signs and the police are afraid of them too so they don’t give them citations the way they used to.
This guy was a regular bird watcher in the area, and I thought he had a very good technique for defusing a situation: offer the dog a treat, and then the “dog mommy,” as they call themselves, will run forward and leash the dog and drag it off to prevent it from eating the treat.
She was the one who announced she was going to call the cops and say that an “African American man had threatened to murder her.“
Sort of like the woman here in Florida who drowned her autistic son by pushing him into a canal and then called the cops to say that two black men had stopped her car and taken her child away. Fortunately, there was actually a video from a local camera of her pushing the child into the canal.
And fortunately this man in NYC was smart enough to video Karen threatening him.
She should have been arrested for animal cruelty as soon as the video showing her dragging the poor dog around by the collar very obviously putting it in distress and choking it.
