The founder of Hong Kong’s pro-democracy newspaper ‘The Apple Daily’ Jimmy Lai says the support of US President Donald Trump “is the only way” Hong Kong can “escape this scourge” that is the Communist Party of China and its plans to destroy freedoms.
Mr Lai said Donald Trump “is the most effective president to deal with China” as the communist state continues to “intimidate the ordinary people” and “destroy our rule of law and destroy our freedom” within Hong Kong.
“I think only Donald Trump knows how to deal with China by playing hard ball,” Mr Lai said.
“This is important for the world to know that this is a China that does not respect law and is not to be trusted”.
It comes as demonstrations are set to take place on Wednesday as thousands of Hong Kong citizens protest Beijing’s plan to enforce national security laws on the city...
