Isn’t there a way to make those tankers rudderless?

We don’t need to sink them, just blow out the engines to prevent them from navigating.

In Vietnam they used to run monofilament fishing nets to stop our navigation. I would like to think that we have a much more efficient means available now at our disposal.

Only way to do this without putting oil in the water is to take out their stearing gear. A 25mm cannon would do the trick. Mounted on every US Navy vessel currently on the water.

The other option would be boarding with Marines, SEALs or Coast Guard LEDets.
