Gorgeous, awful picture.
I have no idea.....but I sure as heck won’t be posting any other happening in California after all the smack downs on this thread!...... Very sad since there are plenty of Freepers here who live in California and donate well to this site.
What's the arson forecast today look like?
Its got the Musee Mechanique, which is charming.
Thats toward the city end of the pier.
And the support infrastructure for the O’Brien and Pampanito on the West half of the Pier - its split by a through road. It would be bad if those places burned.
The restaurants and etc. are replaceable.
I was just there this January. We have been there dozens of times, when we lived there for 36 years. We still have the old house near City College.
Whoa!
That is a very nice picture (forgetting about the underlying disaster).
I might search for a higher resolution version for a desktop image.
Got to let it roll off. Its not like back during Clinton or the get out of Cheneys house days. Is what it is. FR still occasionally beats the media to news. There are still some very smart involved ones left. Thx for the post. Looks bad and my guess is homeless. Lack of California politicians following the law put lots of good FF at bigglie risk.
There are a lot of a**holes on this whole site. The Warf was once a beautiful place. That place next to the O'Brien and the Pampanito was cool. It had a lot of neat stuff from yesteryear. There was a LOT of vintage games and stuff from way back when.
The fact that someone would say "let the whole state burn" because he doesn't like someone's politics says everything I need to know about that person. They are beyond being an a**hole - they are just as evil as democrats.
The fact that you would say that makes you just as evil as the democrats. You are no different and may in fact be worse.
Thank you caww, great video. I grew up in CA the wharf was one of my favorite places to visit. ( 60’s and 70’s)
That was my first thought too — started by homeless squatters. In my old Chicago neighborhood, nestled among the nice residential homes, were several small, old, abandoned “factories” where the homeless squatted and pursued their shenanigans. Late one night one of the places caught fire. The homeless folks just up and left, notifying no-one. By the time someone noticed the flames, several homes were lost. The “homeless” are a plague.
That’s going to take Federal funding to rebuild.
Might as well go out with some insurance money we arent going back to work any time soon, thats what this is
Yep.
This sites owner is in California!
Jack Webb as Jeff Reagan, and Bob Bailey as Johnny Dollar, did. stories about that.
Time to get rid of the trolleys and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Time to get rid of the trolleys and the Golden Gate Bridge.
You made me thirsty and missing that view!!!
Enjoyed the city when my husband worked half time in CA for ten years. Loved walking around everywhere and actually walked a 24.6 miles there one day! Great memories. Like you, it’s lost its charm with drugs and homeless everywhere. So many great restaurants. Pelosi can have her city.
