The Illinois House voted 72-43 to pass an expansion plan for voting by mail for the 2020 General Election. This vote followed a lengthy debate between Republicans and Rep. Kelly Burke (D-Evergreen Park) who sponsored the proposal in the House.
Democrats discussed the possibility of implementing a vote-by-mail plan earlier this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic sped up their process. Sponsors say Senate Bill 1863 will give voters the opportunity to cast their ballots without going out in public, as there could potentially be a second round of COVID-19 spread this fall. If the bill passes out of both chambers, 4.8 million registered voters would automatically receive an application for vote by mail. More specifically, applications would go to anyone who voted over the last two years or recently registered to vote at a new address.

I get absentee ballots mailed to me starting 12 years ago for 20 years because of an injury.
I was home for about four years and then went back to work full time but still receive them.
I would imagine it would be quite easy to steal it from my mailbox.
I can’t imagine that the bureaucracy involved in trying to get that corrected once I noticed I didn’t get it
The Democrats gutted an unrelated bill, stuck Amendment 5 in it this morning and passed it this evening.

They haven’t addressed the unconstitutional COVID-19 shutdown over 30 days. That is anticipated to be addressed on Friday.

A federal appeals court Wednesday quickly put on a hold a ruling that paved the way in Texas for a dramatic expansion of mail-in voting due to fears of the coronavirus.
The move by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans came less than 24 hours after a federal judge in San Antonio ruled that Texas must give all 16 million registered voters in the state the option of voting by mail during the pandemic.

Was just reading about a major USPS facility in Denver being shut down to an “outbreak” of the Chinese flu. The immediate outcry is about disrupting stimulus check delivery and VOTING. So this is the next tactic, because Trump. Gotta keep the Rats all wee-wee’d up.

The Dems aren’t gonna stop at IL.
They’re trying it in TX (thankfully, stopped, for now, by Appeals Court) and they’ll do this all across the fruited plains.
"We are going to be encouraging younger folks, those 16 years old and up, to become election judges," said Sen. Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield).
This is just one example of how the democrats are out of their ever lovin' minds. As an election judge for the past two major elections, even I haven't always immediately known what to do in certain situations. Surely this idea will come off the table!

Yes, and voting in person is almost as bad. When I go to vote, I go up to the table and state my name. Some lady sitting at the table says, “Yes, I know who you are.”
That lady has no idea who I am! I don’t know her, and she doesn’t know me. It’s all a farce. Anyone at all could walk up to that table, give my name, then cast a vote.
Why this wasn’t fixed back in 2017 is beyond me. The GOP had the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. It could have been done.
