Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a news conference at the State Dept today, talking about China, the pandemic, and the firing of State Dept. Inspector General Steve Linick. This runs 20 minutes.
It appears to me this is a "last straw" face palm moment. Not just a US adjustment but a large part of the globe realizes that this is the situation.
Secretary Pompeo is a no BS guy. He did a great job at the CIA and is dealing with some very long term problems within the State Department at the same time he is making better connections globally through the State Department.
The portion dealing the firing IG Steve Linick is near the end of the video.
Pompeo is masterful in his press conferences. He is always calm, poised and polished. I especially like how he often seems bemused at the gotcha questions from the press.
He is competent and has clear understanding of reality.
He is not easily fooled.
Just what leadership should be. I bet the old school State Department types are intimidated by him.
