The sediment at the bottom of the river certainly is. That was common knowledge when I worked at Dow in the early 1980’s.

I was raised on the banks of the Tittabawassee River about five miles upstream from Midland and Dow Chemical Company ... 18 years there until I left for the Naval Academy. Our bottom yard flooded every Spring and, every time either the Sanford or Edenville Dam was opened, the level of the river would rise four or five feet and the current doubled or tripled. There was a large boulder on a sandbar about midway across the river and that was our checkpoint for whether or not it was safe to go into the river to swim: if you could see the boulder, the river was low and the current weak; if not, the dams were open and it was too dangerous to go into the river.

It was a good life ...

That’s a great personal kid story. Thanks. I’m more knowledgeable because of it. That’s important to me. I want to grow a little (or a lot) every day.

But I want to expand my horizons, not my waistline.

I’m immune from harm.
I just put on my mask like Gretchen says.

Will she have the evacuators arrested for violating her stay-at-home oder?

This flood didn’t happen. If it is not virus related, it does not exist.

Actually, it is. It’s listed as a super fund site on the EPA website.

Nah, she’ll delegate that to her minions.

She’s got to concentrate on really important stuff, like face masks.

"Michigan does not seem to be well-run. Perhaps the voters should vote differently."

The pothead vote was strong in this one.
