I’m okay with NYC not coming back. If it becomes the next Detroit I’d be fine with that too.

To quote bumper stickers in the early 80’s that were on lots of cars in Upstate New York as “The City” was demanding to be bailed out by the rest of the State: “Let the Apple Rot”.

NYC rips off the taxpayers from the rest of the nation for more than $8 Billion a year to keep their subway running.

Eliminate the subway subsidy and let the riders pay for it.

It is way past time to let the profligate wastrels of New York, Illinois, California, Kentucky, and Connecticut go bankrupt and eliminate their bloated pensions for state and local government retirees.

You mean this one?

Interesting that a drop of 12 points in the Dow got front page headline, especially as a "skid".

What NYC really needs is to finish Cuomo's euthanasia project in the nursing homes, then use those for illegals' housing needs.

Make budget cuts, do whatever on your own accord, but stop begging for taxpayers to bailout your own policy failures.

NYC is down 90% from its peak. They are near herd immunity. They are in great shape to open up everything now.

Cities go to the state, and ask for money because they are going broke. The state goes to the federal government and ask for money because they are going broke. De Blasio skipped a step. Will the federal government go to the world demanding money because it is going broke?

They have homeless using city as personal bathroom

This virus was the least of their problems

In New York City, where more of the homeless population lives in shelters rather than on the streets, there have not been the same outbreaks of hepatitis A and typhus, said Dr. Kelly Doran, an emergency medicine physician and assistant professor at NYU School of Medicine. But Doran said different infections occur in shelters, including tuberculosis, a disease that spreads through the air and typically infects the lungs.

Oh yes of course how could I have missed that one? They want to charge income taxes from volunteers who came from other states to help, of course they should tax the Navy ship crew! It’s only fair!

They made their own problems so much worse by letting those subways continue to run the entire time. Eventually of course the people got wise and stopped riding them (in part because there was nowhere to go!) but the subway was probably the #1 way in which the virus spread. And Deblowhard was encouraging people to come into the city even in March when they were predicting 2 million deaths!

And “epidemiologists” have known for 2500 years that this is how diseases spread. The Roman Empire was ingenious in that they built roads and aqueducts to enlarge their reach, incorporate territory, aid in commerce and military deployment etc. But these roads also made it very easy for plague infected rodents to come down from the woods and into the cities. Mass transit = mass transmission of diseases. We’ve known this for 1000s of years. They knew the disease was highly contagious person to person but never took any mitigating factors to keep the trains and subways clean, limited, socially distant etc. Didn’t even limit ridership to essential personnel.

Now we find out, maybe half the deaths in NY were due to their idiotic nursing home policies that kept visitors out to prevent disease, while ordering infected elderly into the homes! Mere incompetence doesn’t explain the inconsistencies here. They made so many egregious errors - and this is why they continue to deflect by blaming Trump. As if Trump could order NY to shut its own train system and decide who to admit into nursing homes.

“That’s revenue that’s gone that pays for cops, firefighters, teachers, sanitation workers, it’s gone," de Blasio said

Taxes pay these salaries, last I checked they didn't rebate my school taxes.
