ALL drugs, even common OTC drugs, have possible side-effects and contra-indications. Every drug commercial on TV mentions a list of possible harmful effects, some of them very serious.

From what I've heard, HCQ has a very good safety profile even with prolonged use for chronic illnesses like lupus and arthritis. But because Trump mentioned it as a "POSSIBLE game-changer," the media HAD to be against it. Suddenly HCQ is treated like lead-tainted moonshine or some dubious elixir at a Wild West medicine show.

I have no data to prove it, but I wonder if the fact that the FDA scared people away from HCQ - and that some governors and county/state health agencies banned its use for CV patients - is part of the reason that the US has lagged behind most European countries in not only flattening but significantly lowering the CV curve. TDS might actually be killing people.
