President Trump said Monday that he was “surprised” by Attorney General William Barr’s statement that he doesn’t anticipate a criminal investigation into former President Obama or former Vice President Joe Biden.
“I think if it was me, they would do it. I think if for them, maybe, they’re not going to,” Trump told reporters Monday afternoon when asked about the attorney general's comments. “I’m surprised because Obama knew everything that was happening.”
“I think it’s just a continuation of a double standard. I am surprised by it,” the president continued.
Barr earlier Monday said he didn’t expect U.S. attorney John Durham’s probe into the FBI’s decision-making in the Russia investigation to lead to criminal investigations of either Obama or Biden.
“Based on the information I have today, I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr told reporters. “Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.”
He also denounced “increasing attempts to use the criminal justice system as a political weapon.”
“As long as I am attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends,” Barr said.

You might be right. I dropped my expectations of justice with this thing long ago. However, Barr conclusively stated that the Russian collusion delusion was nonsense today. The media will not cover those comments because it is like the HCQ debacle and they cannot admit they were wrong.
However, Barr would not have said what he did today if he was not 100% confident that he could back it up and it will be backed up at some point in the future.
There is “something” happening. It most probably won’t be what we want (prosecutions and prison), but Barr would never have said what he said today (the first time he has stated it bluntly) if the story was not going to be revealed.
I will take anything at this point because its more than we got now. However, if he and Durham wait until after the November election to formally say this was all a hoax and a conspiracy I will be waving my pitchfork with everyone else.
This outrageous crap sandwich costs the President a significant amount of his first term. It cost the GOP votes in the mid-term election as the Mueller investigation dragged on. There are a sizable number of Americans who still believe Trump colluded with Russia because the media still beats that drum. Schiff wants the Mueller grand jury transcripts to try and resurrect the corpse once again even as Barr just clearly said it was all pure BS.
The sooner they can put the information out there the better and let Americans decide if they want to keep the democrats in congress on the collusion delusion witchhunt. The longer Barr and Durham wait to release this the more damage is done to Trump with it.
They need to wrap this crap up ASAP and release the facts to the court of the American public. It would be inexcusable to drag this out beyond the election, but based on how this has worked so far I would not be surprised if they did.
If they can,t be tried, how about taking their extra stuff away I.e. their extra Secret Services protection and security clearances, etc.
The other statements Bill Barr made are in fact very telling, he has used the harshest words to date describing the plot against the president and left no doubt he and Durham know what went down.

It’s a red herring and distraction from GOP culpability in the ongoing coup.
What happened during Trump’s term is far worse than whatever spying happened to him during the campaign.
Obama era crimes can plausibly dismissed as not wanting to politicize the transfer of power. So Barr draws our attention to that shiny object. There is no such easy defense for the GOP colluding with Democrats in the ongoing coup against POTUS.
Barr is dragging the big issues out as close to the election as possible because the GOP intends to use the election as ha hammer to bully Trump into supporting their positions regardless. Gowdy flat out said it on fox: “Now is not the time for an internecine fight.” So, just surrender to the coupists instead.
The only reason not to bring in Obama and Biden (hell, Biden confessed in public to forcing the Ukraine to drop an ethics investigation) is .... wait for it ... politics.
If the current GOP has to be destroyed so be it. Trying to reform the GOP party structure is an exercise in futility.

Some of PDJT’s personnel choices have been abysmal. Why Barr? Before he went into hearings we knew (1) Barr is a close friend of Mueller, and (2) Barr is a bushbot. If we knew it, how could Trump NOT know it. There are any number of attorneys who we know would do the right thing and be loyal to the president. So... why Barr?

I believe they have promised to do that.
