The “oh shit” moment might be related to the requests for trump tax returns. I think I would have said that. being caught in the middle is not good. He might have to get off the fence post and choose a side or did choose.

Since reading that, I have been dwelling on possible reasons for inaction, and without knowing more, it is all speculation.
I would think, though, that for anyone, these kinds of requests would raise a red flag.
