Interestingly, POTUS has no statutory obligation to provide details to Congress when firing an IG.
Yet Grassley claims he does.
None of his damn business.
He serves at the pleasure of the president. His service no longer pleases the president. That’s the only explanation you are owed.
Why didn’t Grassley demand answers from Obama as to why there was no permanent IG while Hillary was Secretary of State. George W. Bush’s appointee left when Obama was inaugurated, and he never nominated anyone until after Hillary left. This Linick guy came in when Kerry took over.
