Tesla has picked Austin, Texas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, as finalists for its new U.S. assembly plant, a person briefed on the matter said Friday.
The person says company officials visited Tulsa in the past week and were shown two sites.
It wasn´t clear if there were any other finalists in the mix. The person, who didn't want to be identified because the site selection process is secret, said no final decision has been made.

Hey, Mr. Musk. Austin is just like California right down to the totalitarian streak and idiot homeless “solutions”. Their current lockdown is until mid-June at the soonest.
I’m not telling you what to do, but Tulsa would be a lot smarter. On the other hand, Apple, Google and eBay have all moved to Austin if you want your cars to be computers-on-wheels.
I think he figured out the ‘decay-rate’ for California, and the approaching tax revenue mess. It wouldn’t shock me if a quarter of all industry left in the state (except for the marijuana industry) packs up and leaves over the next two years. The acceleration factor will be amazing to watch.

Austin, while beautiful is full of the liberal crap Musk is running away from Calif. for.
The good folks of Tulsa are not at all Calif.
Oklahoma has lower tax rates, overall. Texas’ real estate taxes are higher than Oklahoma’s. Austin is full of leftists so he might be jumping out of the fire and into the pot.
I concur with most of the sentiment here regarding Tesla’a pending re-location ... if Austin is the only choice in Texas I prefer they go to OK. Round Rock, Georgetown, any place more than 100 miles from the Capital building would be preferred.
Musk is zapping us with thousands of 5G satellites.

If he is thinking about going to Austin, he should just stay in California.
