You are correct. The unrealistic guidelines for gating and phases are enabling dictators.

She doesn’t know what social distancing even is to start with and ignores what the reality is of things which have in fact occurred (lock downs are way beyond “social distancing”). When she starts out like that, it doesn’t lend much credibility to the rest of her argument, even though much of it is in fact true regarding a number of governors using this situation as an excuse just to exert power for no apparent reason other than just to do it (i.e. after medical facilities do in fact get enough PPE to continue functioning safely and certain ones are clearly not overrun with COVID19 patients, allow them to resume their normal operations...but no, Whitmer in Michigan just keeps them *all* closed - just because she can). We have to acknowledge actual reality and not create our own in our own minds to have credible arguments...it is extraordinary how many on the right during this time have demonstrated that feelings should outweigh facts to create narratives - kindred spirits with the far Left. We don’t need that on our side.

Seeing the picture of that road sign on I-85 Georgia reminded me of something. I remember reading somewhere awhile back about some wags hacking into these electric sign boards with various messages, some of which were inappropriate. Right now, there are plenty of highly appropriate messages that could be put up; the one shown in the picture not being one of them.

The insistence on maintaining the 6 foot distancing rule at all times is because the surveillance cameras can’t distinguish between people who are closer together than 6 feet. This is prep for bringing us the same social credits system Eric Schmidt of Google developed for China, which depends on maintaining constant surveillance of everyone at all times.

When the facial recognition cameras become useless, they’ll suddenly decide that we no longer need to wear masks. And the reason will have something to do with racism.

Sweden got it right, by foing nothing?

Sweden did nothing because they knew they couldn't control their muzzie population, and therefore enforcement was futile. Maybe we should take the muzzie approach and challenge the authorities.

There is a huge difference between “social distancing” - trying to keep a 6 foot gap between yourself and most strangers - and a stay at home order. Social distancing is how I’ve lived my life for decades. I have no desire to live cheek to cheek with a thousand of my friends! There is a reason I live where the only subway sells sandwiches!

But stay at home? Mask up everywhere? I don’t think so!

...which depends on maintaining constant surveillance of everyone at all times.

"The telescreen recieved and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it;
moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard.

There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment.
How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork.
It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to.

You had to live - did live, from habit that became instinct - in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized.

-1984, Book 1, Chapter One, George Orwell

Sweden didn’t do NOTHING. They did cancel mass gatherings, and encouraged social distancing. But they did a lot less than most places, and most place remained open.

Time will tell the outcome.
