“We need to accommodate homeschoolers and allow public school dollars to follow the student.”
I used to agree with this sentiment, but I don’t anymore. Once their dollars are connected to us they OWN us. Most states already have some form of oversight (usually testing at certain ages, giving notice, curriculum review, etc.) We don’t want more.
Homeschoolers regularly and consistently score higher than public school kids on tests, regardless of the income and background of the parents. We need to repeat these TRUTHS over and over. Homeschooling is proven to be academically better even without government money.
So they are going to quite their jobs? I don’t believe it.
It was a straight-forward presentation of the issues of conflict between states that favored slavery and those that opposed to it. I did not find any political posturing in the text of the online lesson plans.
I might be able to give a better reply if you have a specific question but in summary there you go.
I just couldn’t parse the sentence.
Theyve been trying that all along, tho - and it wont help their cause that so many parents know so much more about education than they did a few months ago.
