(CNN) The remains of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife will be removed from a Memphis park where a monument of him once stood.
The decision to move their remains came after the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a non-profit organization of male descendants of Confederate veterans, agreed to drop a pending lawsuit against park owners

From Wiki:
"Robert C. Byrd, was a recruiter for the Klan while in his 20s and 30s, rising to the title of Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of his local chapter."
They should go full circle with their medieval mentality and burn the remains.
“Now after years of controversy, both parties have agreed to remove the remains, which will become property of The Sons of Confederate Veterans.
The group will also take possession of two Civil War-related statues and other items previously on public display at the park, according to WREG.
“We are pleased to say that the statues and the bodies of the general and his wife will be placed somewhere that that will be honored and respected as all American veterans and citizens should be respected,” said Donnie Kennedy, a spokesman for the group, in a statement to CNN. He did not specify where they would be moved.
Both parties told WREG they are happy they were able to reach this outcome outside the courtroom.
“They don’t have to worry about further protests, further potential vandalism of the monuments,” Van Turner, president of Memphis Greenspace and Shelby County Commissioner, said.
Turner also told WREG that under the new agreement, Memphis Greenspace will not be pursuing action to get the statues banned from Tennessee.
“As an American, as a defender of the Constitution, it is their right to do so, to freely express their views,” said Turner. “It’s my right as an American to not support that, to not visit it.””
Well that solves all the world’s problems right there. </sarcasm>
Forrest was a great man. This is beyond the beyonds. Likely to spark the next Civil War. Change to- it should spark the next Civil War.
Both sides are US war veterans, by law. They are to be treated with equal respect, North and South.
This whole anti-confederate movement stinks.
I guess my grave will be destroyed in the future because I serve in multiply wars under the USA flag. The USA flag will be a hate symbol in 20 years.
I’m sure that this will instantly solve all the problems blacks have, their IQ’s will instantly go from an average of 85 to an average of 100. They will stop committing 52 percent of all murders, they will instantly stop committing 48 percent of all rapes, they will instantly stop committing 50 percent of all armed robberies, they will instantly stop committing 95 percent of all interracial attacks. Yes, the remains of NBF and his wife was the cause of all their problems.
For your interest.
and the Boston Bombing jihadist is buried in an American cemetery. And you can’t know where
There are hundreds of things in WV named after Rober Byrd yet these POS hypocrites never seem to be outraged over that.
Sigh, as a child I played at that park in the shadows of that statue. Then again, Jim Crow was alive and well in 1950’s Memphis.
Most folks don’t realize that after the War, Gen’l. Forrest got saved, adopted and raised a black child, and even did a little preaching of the Gospel. The organization once started by Forrest and others was not originally a hate group or anti-blacks. After Forrest left the group, others took it over and made it what it has become known for. Also; The NRA was originally started by anti-slavery whites, to provide firearm protections to the freed slaves. That’s why democRATS hate the NRA so much.
Nathan Bedford Forrest wasn’t a Confederate General. He was just a jogger.
You have every right to hide from history. You have no right to hide history from the people-

At the core of political correctness is delusion and a willful ignorance of history. Ignorance of cultural history is the catalyst of a nation’s decline. Judging Forrest’s mindset and behavior by the standards of today is ludicrous. Forrest in his own mind and conscious behaved in accordance with the standards of his time. It is unnecessary to honor his politics and allegiance to the Confederacy. however to ignore his military innovations and genius is just stupid. His tactics are still studied by serious military people around the world. Rommel,Patton, Guderian all studied his campaigns carefully and implemented his tactics.
This willful exercise in delusional political correctness within government, academia, the media and even religion is corroding civilization. People need to think clearly in order to prosper.
And ping pong champion.
