I couldn’t remember if parents had to approve vaccines or not back in the ‘50s and ‘60s. (Why would I? I was a kid.)

Back in the 50s, the polio vaccine was a Godsend. Only the very foolish would avoid it. I could never even go to county fairs until I had the vaccine.
