As you saw elsewhere, on an adjusted basis twenty thousand more people have dies from this bug in Sweden than America. And contrary to popular belief, SE hasn't had a proper hands-off approach. Further, their economy is suffering and they have spiking unemployment as well - per Bloomberg, they'll have an expected nearly 7 per cent drop in GDP and 14% unemployment rate.

I think Sweden has some lessons to offer. But a balanced analysis is necessary.

On per capita basis, Sweden has a much lower infection/deaths rates than Italy Spain France Belgium and the UK and better than NY NJ Massachusetts and Michigan.
And they did it without lockdowns.

Okay. The US has lost a massive 33.5 million jobs since the lockdowns started. How many jobs has Swede lost even per capita?
Survey posted here on FR says a massive 50% of small businesses in the US will never come back.

Sweden’s economy is suffering because of a massive drop in tourism and because people are doing on their own what other governments are forcing their citizens to do. Visits to restaurants, stores, sporting events, etc. are way down because of voluntary social distancing.
Now if that’s happening in a country with no real restrictions imagine what is going to happen to countries like Spain, France and the UK, which not only have far tighter controls than Sweden, they also have a higher death rate so they get the worst of both worlds.

CDC is counting everyone who dies of respiratory related disease as Covid 19. On average 522 people per day die of non-Covid respiratory disease in this country. There is evidence that in NY that all deaths in some areas are being reported (as reported by funeral home directors). This is the reason for their outlandish numbers. Pay for play, as these deaths result in huge payments from the government.

Stay home if you are afraid, let the rest of us go back to our normal lives.
