About Those Murder Hornets: Not So Fast -- They really aren’t any more dangerous to people than other stinging insects.

I do believe the ‘murder’ applies to the hornets biting the head off of the honey bees. They will decimate a hive in by decapitating the bees.
Although, the Japanese bees will ‘cook’ the invaders. I wonder if American bees have that instinct?
(A Murder Hornet sting has been known to cause kidney damage and tissue necrosis, so there’s that)

“Antarctica, eh?”

OK. Maybe just Montana. I can deal with being eaten by a Grizzly, or charged by a buffalo.

That’s in the Arctic. The remake was in Antarctica.

Paper Wasp. OUCH BURN! Then ITCH a HUGE WELT for DAYS!!

No kidding here - last year the wife had a paper wasp fly into her jersey while riding and got her just to the lower outside of her breast.

I took one look at the sting and said - without missing a beat - “Your gonna need a D cup”.

Maybe it does?

We could harness them to wind turbines or something and make them generate electricity, then watch the KillAllFossilFuel people fight it out with the StopAllAnimalCruelty people. Hell, there’s no real sports to watch. We could bet on the outcome...make it into a drinking game...

I saw that movie when it came out in 1982 in theatre. That scene literally made me jump out of my chair. It wasn’t a huge success at the time but impressed me to no end. Reading reviews today on IMDB it is now rocketing up the charts. The number of 10/10s is amazing. Most coming since about 2000. It is the very definition of a cult movie.

Murder hornets? So now we’re denying due process and presumption of innocence to bugs?

No worry. The new 75-pound rabid raccoons love to eat these hornets. The coons carry rabies, but it doesn't kill them. There is no help for victims that are bit by the coons. The strain rabies they carries can kill a human in less than 24 hours. There. Just took out those hornets out of the news.

Japanese bee keepers have been dealing with them for a long time. They’re a pain in the butt, but they’re manageable. Mostly they just use glue traps. So even as a bee threat they just aren’t that big a deal.
I was wondering if a small mechanism could detect and kill them.
