Three members of the White House coronavirus task force are self-isolating for two weeks after possible exposure to the illness.
Dr Anthony Fauci, who has become the public face of the fight against the virus in the US, is one of those who will go into quarantine.
The 79-year-old will work from home for the time being and will be regularly tested, the institute said.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr Robert Redfield and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner Stephen Hahn are also self-isolating.
In a statement, the CDC said Dr Redfield, 68, had no symptoms and was not feeling unwell, but would also be teleworking for two weeks after "low risk exposure" to someone at the White House. It is unclear who this person is.
And an FDA spokesman told Reuters news agency on Friday that 60-year-old Stephen Hahn was also self-isolating. He has also tested negative, the spokesman said.

And after watching a few videos, this Fauci is a very touchy, feely person.
Could this be a face saving way of Trump benching these three task force members? If Birx has a similar situation it would be a good sign.

The media wore no masks and were "visiting" each other pre-meeting...We saw it on camera.
Fauci touched everything...the mike, the podium and stood shoulder to shoulder....or should I say should to waist (LOL). He was the worst example. Birx coughed and touched her face.

If so, you almost can’t turn it off, even at times like this.

So as I read it, none of these people have tested positive for COVID-19.
That includes Fauci who is defining the terms of his own loosey-goosey quarantine while continuing to call for locking down the healthy along with the ill. That said, I do wish him well, because the last thing we need is for this mini Mussolini to die a martyr to COVID-19.

As the members of the Task Force self-isolate, they should take note of the work of AG Barr’s task force in the last few weeks, and how they uncovered political wrong-doings by Obama’s DOJ and FBI to take down Trump. Lots of people in prominent positions, now looking at jailtime as a possibility in their futures. If you don’t purge the Resistance out of the CDC and NIH and any other organizations that fall under the Executive Branch, your own names could end up in the same trash heap in a few years.
Empirical evidence proves wearing mask works.
Japans population is 125 + million people and they commonly wear mask and don’t shake hands. They have lost 607 people to this virus... If everybody wore mask from the start of this crises... We would have less deaths. That’s not we ‘may’ have less, or ‘maybe’ have less... That’s a fact!
People working at the White House should all be wearing mask, except for Trump and Pense... They are checked daily.
