Whittier councilwoman faces wrath for suing to block financial aid to undocumented immigrants

Newly elected Whittier Councilwoman Jessica Martinez’s decision to take part in a lawsuit filed by a conservative group to block $75 million Gov. Gavin Newsom authorized in financial aid for undocumented immigrants is garnering heat.

Opponents have threatened a recall — although they can’t even start the process until July. They also demonstrated outside her home on Saturday and sent in 51 emails criticizing her, in lieu of public comment, to Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

“You have long lines of people in her district lining up at schools for the free lunches,” said Miguel Garcia, founder and president-elect of Whittier Voters Coalition, a group that fought to elect council members by district.

“Instead of trying to block the help, Jessica Martinez should be trying to help the people,” Garcia said. “She’s out of touch with people in her district.”

The issue was raised at Tuesday’s council meeting when Councilman Henry Bouchot asked the city to issue a news release to clarify Whittier is not part of and does not support the lawsuit. He wanted a similar message sent to Newsom.

The idea of feeding kids in schools with taxpayer money from taxpayers who don’t even have kids is totally OBSCENE.

They are NOT my kids....WHY should I be feeding any of them?

IF you cannot feed your own kids-—DO NOT HAVE THOSE KIDS.

Newsom needs to face serious consequences for trying to use Federal $$$ to assist ILLEGALS.

How arrogant can he be?

The issue of sovereignty should not be allowed to get twisted into being propagandized as “White Nationalism”. Use of that term is usually directed when the immigration issue is brought up to devalue of the protections an American citizen have by being one. When allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoid enforcing the reciprocal 2nd class treatment that American citizens get while legally residing in Mexico which of course also includes denial of voting privileges..

Today’s so called democrats insist Americans must allow illegals storm in here by the hundreds of thousands despite their cost to us of billion$ in tax dollars,which is never enough. Tax money that should be going to our citizens for their sustenance,health,education,and housing even infrastructure needs. But Americans must do the tax flagellating punishment because we’re the very rich United States and must divert those billion$ to fill the needs of those poor illegals plus give them the right to vote. Sustained by our tax money which our children’s children if not aborted will be paying for.?

Besides flooding the labor market with cheap labor which reduces job opportunities for American citizens in a diminishing base. Highly infectious communicable diseases are also pouring through this uncontrolled border creating serious health problems.
In the hundreds of postings here in Free Republic rarely is this brought up. It’s Known As Reciprocity. We should be treating anybody illegally crossing the Mexican border into the US the way the Mexican’s do Any American illegally .crossing into Mexico. No” free” lawyer paid by Mexican taxpayers. Entry denied heavy fine and possible imprisonment. before getting kicked out.

When allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoids recognizing and dealing with the 2nd class treatment that American citizens get which is in their constitition while legally residing in Mexico.That not just includes denial of voting privileges but employment, and land ownership in their name.

Worse yet All when given to illegals and property ownership by them is used in states which Mexico has previously claimed espcially Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and of course California .that could be used to support any reclaiming effort should regime changes in Mexico arise , Our border with Mexico has always been contentious not only with smugglers but on ocassion with Mexican bandits and military.,Allowing potential hostiles to the US property ownership to happen in those states could lead to serious problems in the future.

We voted for Ms. Martinez for Whittier City Council. There was nothing in the Whittier Daily News up to this point that mentioned her opposition to illegals receiving Federal dollars.

I happened to tune in to the Whittier City council meeting and could not figure out why one councilman was chastising “another member of the council”, and for what. All that was said was that such comments were unbecoming of a council person.

Not until Ms. Martinez weighed in on the subject did I then understand that it was she who was being chastised. Ms. Martinez defended her position. Also, the leftist councilman slammed another Republican council person Ms. Cathy Warner, who happens to be white, for supposed insensitivity to immigrants’ struggles.

To which Ms. Warner pushed back, describing her family’s lineage, coming through Europe, and the experiencs of her forebears. Not at all from a position of privilege but of trial by famine and hardship.

It did my heart proud to see leftist racism countered so effectively by Ms. Warner.

In my book, there should be no Federal tax dollars spent on people who are not U.S. citizens.
