Rhode Island to end stay-at-home order starting Saturday

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo (D) on Thursday announced she will allow the state’s stay-at-home order to expire Saturday, describing a series of thresholds the state has successfully met to begin a phased reopening.

“Because the data shows that these triggers have been met – because the virus is stable and we have the necessary structures in place to protect RIers on a long-term basis – we are able to lift the stay-at-home order beginning Saturday, when we'll enter Phase 1 of our reopening,” Raimondo tweeted.

“I want RIers to have confidence that this is a safe decision, but I also want everyone to remember that moving into phases of reopening does not mean this virus will go away,” she added, saying precautions such as hand-washing, social distancing and facial coverings would remain necessary.

Raimondo also tweeted a reminder of the state’s phased reopening plan, saying that she would also allow places of worship to reopen. However, gatherings of all kinds would remain restricted to five people or fewer.

I think we are going to see more and more blue state governors noticing that red states are opening up and they are being left behind.

Maybe some shelter-in-pace hikers looked around and noticed they had walked their way out of Rhode Island. Governor decided to just give up.

Wisconsin has met ALL of the ‘parameters’ our Governor set for re-opening Wisconsin.

Are we open? Nope! He just moved the goalposts!

FWIW....Here in south central Pennsyltucky I was out driving around a bit this afternoon. I noticed what seemed to be a fair increase in traffic. Lottsa trucks and big rigs rolling. It was a welcome sight.

We’re currently at May 26th. One of my Republican Reps sent me an e-mail tonight that The Gov is deigning to meet with them to speed up the process.

I’m quite surprised, but he’s pretty outnumbered - our House and Assembly (Senate) are still in Republican hands, for what that’s worth.

Just looked up some stats and we are already $870 Million in the hole as far as tax revenues go. How is our Dem Governor going to fun abortions for all and coddle ILLEGALS if there’s no money to do so?

*SNORT*

Democrats are always their own worst enemy. They are so hellbent on harming We The People and it’s just delicious when it backfires on them!

Same region...saw the same thing last Sunday, looked like "normal" Sunday traffic except that only the big boxes were open.

BAD NEWS: Tommie the Commie and the Transylvania Trannie just extended the "stay at home" through June 4 except for the 24 counties which go "yellow" at midnight tonight.
