A Surrey, B.C. woman is looking for answers after her husband died after a planned surgery was cancelled because of COVID-19 measures.
Delia Oliveira's husband, Chris Walcroft, had been dealing with failing kidneys for several years. He was due to get surgery for the condition on March 17, but on March 16 the hospital called to cancel the surgery.
"I called the hospital and asked why," Oliveira told CTV News Channel. "They said non-essential surgeries are being cancelled."

It’s nothing less than political murder
This is terrible and I am sorry for the loss.
My friend is missing out on a half year possibly of post breast cancer injections.
I’m waiting on an endoscopy follow up as I have barrett’s
Mom either has bad age related memory loss or the beginnings of dementia, along with another friend’s mom who is seeing people that aren’t there.
YES that one has seen a doctor and he gave her zoloft?!?!
How many are gonna suffer and die because they DONT have the virus but have something else?
The important thing is that you can buy pot and lottery tickets during the corona madness lockdown. Surgery is nonessential .
And have an abortion
It is becoming painfully obvious that the medical field over-reacted. They must come up with some kind of national MASH units to attend to the hot spots, and a serious protocol for protecting the vulnerable, and let everyone else live their lives.
Boy did you nail it.
For some reason I thought we prepped for a pandemic.
You know, the army sets up yuge hospitals somewhere to take the infected...
and then Dustin Hoffman finds a cure in 2 hours and 20 minutes :)
Seriously, this thing ain’t even that bad on the list of pandemics and it rocked us.
What the heck would something like an airborne ebola do?
And not only that, where the heck is my free money?
lol
We’re all gonna get 3 million gazillion quadrillion dollars a month under some D Ohio congressman’s plan.
I’m planning on buying Greenland.
I already made an offer. Don’t go starting a bidding war.
ROFLMAO!!!!!
I’ll buy Staten Island!
I’m already here so what the heck.
I’ll make all my fellow WOPs worship me like Mussolini!!
Without the bad ending...
I’ve been wondering all the people who would die or have their lives severely negatively impacted due to hospitals stopping or limiting procedures.
Now here in USA we got RuthBG taking up hospital bed no problem, but average citizen, likely not treated with same quick care.
as for the elected creeps, they're doing this lockdown for their benefit....
Just add them to the list of others who are or will be suffering massively from this insane shutdown.
There is the law of unintended consequences, and then there are those who are knowingly sacrificed by the powers that be for an alleged “greater good”. In this case it was a decision to intentionally inflict massive economic damage on the economy, and hardship for millions of hard working people, to potentially reduce the number of deaths for elderly people with pre-existing medical conditions, without any evidence that the number of deaths has actually been reduced.
According to Dennis Prager, this may be the biggest mistake in history.
And to add insult to injury, they orobably declared it a COVID death.
Government: What you do instead of common sense...
Probably many, many more than died from the virus.
Sue ‘til she owns the hospital.
Might be difficult under UK’s NHS.
The glories of socialized medicine.
