Kind of like President Trump asking the Ukraine for any info on crimes committed by US citizens. But without the shampeachment drama.

Or, was he framed because he did fight the cartels?
Mexico is almost as corrupt as the FBI and the US Justice Department.

Um, don't all Mexican politicians and officials take bribes from the Cartels? I don't think it would be possible to investigate all the people that may have some sort of connection to all the corruption in that grande old third world cesspool.

The cartels are a authorized franchise by centers of influence (Deep State) in the Mexican government who take and distribute huge bribes. When a cartel gets too notorious and they get too far off balance in their murders, they lose the franchise and someone else steps in. Again with the approval of officials in whatever ruling party is in power.
The US government knows this and I believe some sleazy official of the Deep State are participants in the changeover. the goal is to keep things under some US control, but I believe serious money is at stake at as well.
Is it just by chance that El Chapo got a supply of guns large enough for an army to defeat his rivals and take over the most lucrative routes into the US? Can you spell “Fast and Furious” run by Eric Holder and the WH?
Didn’t one of El Chapo’s lieutenants who testified in his trial say hundreds of millions were paid to US officials? Look it up.
