So I know of many people that have been laid off that still haven’t received a stimulus check. Far from wealthy. These people want and need to get back to work. Why is Congress still getting paid and also whining about coming back to DC and working?
Trump answered their concerns last night - if they don’t feel comfortable being there to work they should not show up, but McConnell is correct they should be in session and working.

To me, this is huge example of why most senators and congressmen should be younger, not in their 80s, or maybe even 70s.

As McConnell said, half of the judges that are up could be confirmed by unanimous consent, and nobody would have to show up at all, but the democrats won’t allow that.
McCarthy should call back the Republican side of the house and, if nothing else, start planning for the House change in January so they can hit the floor running at full speed. Doing so, showing the public they want to work, will put them in better light come November election.
If Schumer Democrats hadn’t been delaying for so long, they wouldn’t have to worry about DOING THEIR JOBS NOW when they don’t want to.
