"Number of coronavirus deaths in Korea yesterday, where most of the population wear masks in public, was zero."

Exactly.

And I saw that they are predicting 3000 deaths a day in June. I don't see masks or hand sanitizer in the stores yet.

I realize we can't keep the economy closed forever. We're not prepared to reopen. So I think they are right. Probably on the low side.

And another thing, Korea never really closed their economy. They didn't have too. The population and government put plans and practices in place learned during the SARS outbreak.

The wearing of masks along with other measures by the general public undoubtedly contributed greatly to lessen the burden on the government to do tracing and testing.

As of yesterday, 250 have died from the coronavirus in Korea. By tonight or certainly tomorrow night, according to worldofmeters.info, the US will top 70,000 deaths. Same data source for both Korean numbers and US numbers.

It's just like Forrest said, "stupid is as stupid does".
