I can understand why Trump is nervous about firing Wray before November. He wants GOP deep state senators to stay in the boat for now. I am hoping Trump will fire Wray after that, but even then he needs some of them to confirm Way’s replacement. Dems might even gain seats in the senate.

This process works much better when the public is opposed to Wray, and the press accounts and DEM politicians start to blame Trump for NOT firing Wray.
Meanwhile, Wray can’t do the same sort of damage that Comey could and did. Wray is a passive-aggressive foe.

Even after the dems looked like they hated Comey, and Rosenstein wrote down reasons for firing Comey, they still wanted to impeach Trump for firing him. It's rare when dems express any embarrassment.
Meanwhile, Wray cant do the same sort of damage that Comey could and did. Wray is a passive-aggressive foe.
I think of Wray as a Chief Wiggum from the Simpsons. A go-with-the-flow FBI chief, not as active as Sally Yates, but having the same sympathies. Not the best person for cleaning up the Bureau.

Wiggums didn’t have it in for the people. He was simply hapless.
Wray’s “holding pattern” is deliberate protection for “bad forces.” Unlike Comey, he isn’t on an open offensive against Trump, but he is against Trump.

I mostly agree with you. But if Wray doesn’t fix the FBI, the end result may be the same.

Wray is not interesting in fixing the FBOI. He is interested in changing the public perception.
The same way Hillary is interested in changing public perception.

Wray is not interesting in fixing the FBOI. He is interested in changing the public perception. The evidence supports your statement. If Wray wakes up on Christmas morning like Ebeneezer Scrooge after he has a epiphany, and becomes enlightened, then he might do the right thing. But probably not.
