In a victory for Gov. Gavin Newsom, an Orange County judge on Friday rejected a request from Huntington Beach seeking a temporary restraining order to keep beaches open.
Orange County Superior Judge Nathan Scott set a hearing for Monday to consider the citys request for an injunction against Newsoms order that closed all Orange County beaches in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus. Dana Point, another Orange County coastal city, had also joined the suit to block the beach closure.
Newsom has said its too soon to lift the states stay-at-home order, doubling down on that commitment Thursday and calling for the hard close of all Orange County beaches.
But local governments from Southern California to the Oregon border were preparing to stage acts of resistance Friday, fed up with six weeks of restrictions that have curbed their movements in an effort to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
No problem. Just have the local leaders declare them as sanctuary beaches. After that laws don’t apply.
Shop for a Trump judge
Did not AG Barr explicitly indicate that the Constitution is NOT suspended in times of crisis!?!?
And yet, here we go, Judges failing to follow or uphold the Constitution. GG, Bye bye America.
I’ve been looking for the executive order. It doesn’t exist. It’s not law. Adolf Newsom is not king. Enjoy the beach. Tell them your broke, laid off with no income, and fishing for your dinner. The fascists let criminals out of jail, and they are not going to lock you up for wandering around on a beach. I see YUGE lawsuits if they do. I always wanted to own a city or two...
Exactly. Just don’t comply. Argue sanctuary status.

headline changed to:
1 May: NYT: How New Mexico Is Beating the Virus
It has two things missing elsewhere: political leadership and a strong health system.
By Richard Parker
LAS CRUCES, N.M. On March 13, the same day that a reluctant President Trump admitted that the coronavirus pandemic was a national emergency, a storied New Mexico hospital established the nations first drive-through testing for the virus...
New Mexico isnt out of the proverbial woods yet; infections rage on the Navajo reservation in the western part of the state, stretching into Arizona, with infection rates akin to New York. Already, Navajo officials have recorded nearly 1,200 infections and the entire Navajo police force is being tested.
And, even with a massive death toll averted, she and the states 2.2 million people face economic devastation...

1 May: Fox News: New Mexico governor orders roads closed to city of Gallup in effort to stop coronavirus spread
By Morgan Phillips
To help control a surging outbreak in the city, the Democratic governor locked down the city at the request of Gallups mayor, Grisham said in a news release.
The Riot Control Act allows the states governor to enact temporary restrictions under a state of emergency, including prohibiting residents from being on public streets and the use of certain streets and highways.
Beginning noon Friday, all roads into the city were shut down and businesses were required to close from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. in the city of 70,000. Additionally, only two people are allowed in a vehicle at the same time.
The governor said residents should shelter in place “unless absolutely necessary for health or safety or a medical emergency.”
Anyone who fails to comply with the restrictions will be found guilty of a misdemeanor, or a fourth-degree felony if they are found to be breaking the rules more than once.
The citys lockdown will expire May 4, as the Riot Control Act terminates automatically at noon on the third day after it becomes effective...
***According to Grisham, McKinley County, where Gallup is located, has reported 1,027 positive coronavirus cases, more than 30 percent of the states total. The county has also faced 19 deaths.
Its infection trend shows no sign of flattening, a press release from the governors office said.
(Mayor Jack)McKinney called the outbreak in his city a crisis of the highest order....

Or if an officer tries to remove you from the beach, just tell them you are preparing to swim to Hawaii and therefore you are protected by the Constitution under SCOTUS rulings that we enjoy freedom of movement between states.
OC Sheriff has already stated that his department will not enforce this.
And this is meaningful because? Newsom might as well have his puppet legislature pass a law that rain and wind storms must hit all California beaches. These fools ought to look out of their window,
I didn't read of any arrest in Huntington Beach, I don't think the PD or Sheriffs have any interest in enforcing Newsom's fascism and the public is well and truly fed up with it.
Law enforcement is much more concerned with the dangerous sexual predators that the judges have released supposedly to keep them safe from Covid with a total lack of concern for the law abiding public's safety.
People need to keep track of the judges pulling this crap in their states so they can be held accountable.
.............thus crowding SD and LA beaches increasing the risks there.
the state beaches were patrolled by state officers and the city beaches were open. Don’t know about today.
yeas all beaches. but it was up to the local sheriff and PDs to enforce the local beaches. The state sent officers to the state beaches. If the state had to patrol 43 miles of OC beaches I doin; t know if they could have done it ion the same day as the order. I think 4,000 people showed up at HB and the HB PD couldn’t and didn’t chase them off based on what i heard reported.
