It’s because, in general, women are physically weak and without an understanding of the importance of crushing their enemies.
Women’s soccer brings in “X” number of dollars per year and men’s soccer brings in “X+Y” per year.So it makes sense that the men would make more.
Well with this judgement Megan Rapino will be asking Slow Angry Joe to switch her from the VP slot over to Attorney General.
Equal pay for equal work doesn’t even apply here. It’s not like everybody is at a bench making widgets.
I’m guessing that a professional soccer player’s salary is determined by a negotiation - a negotiation between the player’s agent and the team’s agent.
So you will be paid based on what you are worth.
If this ruins mens soccer then I’m all for it. Woohoo

Maybe if they made them play nekkid more people would watch and they would make more money.
Women’s soccer sucks.
And their players are mannish, obnoxious and very unlikeable.
Obviously the USA Men’s Team generates more money. It doesn’t matter that they do not have the accomplishments of the Women.
It’s like the 1969 NY Mets winning the World Series and insisting the Yankees split their far superior revenue with them.
The simple answer is no men’s or women’s leagues. Just take the best athletes at every level, high school, college, and pros. The rest can play intramural sports.
It’s a business girls, it’s a business. For what you bring in you are probably over paid now as it is so stop drawing attention to yourself.
Here’s the big question: How much revenue does women’s soccer draw compared to men’s soccer? I’ll bet it is way less than 25%.
This was a team that was soundly beaten by several high school boys teams. A group of anti-Americans trying to capitalize their 15 minutes of fame.
Probably the right decision. The men bring in more revenue, and their skills are at a higher level. The ladies don’t do nearly as much of the obnoxious flopping and staging. So maybe he revenue situation will improve.
But the real point is when you bargain for something and give up something else, you should be held to your deal.
Still, pay for professional sports should be based on revenue. Fewer viewers and advertisers = less pay.
It wasn't a "surprising loss" to some of us. I'm not even a lawyer, and I know that it's damn near impossible to win a lawsuit like this over compensation when you're being paid under the terms of a contract.
If the women's national soccer team thought they were getting treated unfairly, then they should have fired their union representatives who negotiated the collective bargaining agreement under which they played.
