The Russians want ti control the ME. So do the Saudis. And now they are at each other with oil prices rather than weaponry.
President Trump essentially used leverage oin the Saudis, he has none with Russia except force majeur.
I am proud of president Trump.
He has saved the US oil industry, and he has the courage to take issues to the fore wall.
As far as the oil glut, its a huge help to reopening economies, so its not ALL bad.

Cut off all U.S. oil imports from OPEC or Russia (if there is any). That will support our domestic oil business and our non-OPEC oil partners.

There is an obvious tipoff that this is fake news. AFAIK, we don't have any "troops" in Saudi Arabia, just the normal assortment of officers and some enlisted providing assistance with American weapons, instructors, etc. We have lots of troops in the smaller Persian Gulf states plus Iraq, but haven't had "troops" as such in Saudi Arabia for at least 15 years, and maybe more than that.
It is possible that Trump threatened something else related to military matters, which an editor cut down to "troops", but this is Reuters which lies constantly about the US in general and Trump in particular, so I wouldn't cut them any slack. This looks too much like more lies by Reuters.
