“How can the US respond?”
Revoke MFN status.
Boot them from the WTO.
Revoke Chinese visas wholesale.
Tariffs, tariffs, tariffs.
Then more tariffs.

Easy , now we just have to get big business out of the way, ie make them understand something needs to be done, any weakness at this time will do nothing but kick us in the teeth later.

When the CCP reacted the way it did it certainly freaked me out.

That is exactly what caused me to raise an eyebrow and pay attention.

Notice the word “wolf bat”.

There is total justification for American researchers co operating with Chinese bat researchers. America has been suffering from bat caused disease for 75 years or so. Such cooperation is not only not a crime, it is required to learn about bats as a disease vector

Although this article describes the bat/rabies problem in New York, it is prevalent in many other states. The truth is, the Americans with bat disease expertise had a duty to collaborate with others studying bats as a disease vector, especially those with large diseased bat populations.

Below are excerpts from one article. There are many other such articles.

Bat Rabies

“Rabies virus infection in bats was first recognized in the US in 1953, and the first rabid bat was identified in New York State in 1956. Since then, the disease has been identified in each of New York’s nine species of insectivorous bats and is widely distributed geographically within the state. Bats and rabid bats can be found in every corner of New York State, from Manhattan to the most remote area of the Adirondacks.

Among bats encountered by people and pets that are submitted to the rabies laboratory for testing, about 3% are found to be rabid. Among normally behaving bats collected in their natural habitats, a fraction of 1% are rabid. Outbreaks of rabies in bat populations have not been observed, and finding one rabid bat in a colony of bats is not evidence of greater prevalence of rabies in that population.

Rabies infection in bats is similar to the disease in other mammals. It is characterized by a variable incubation period that can be months long, a clinical period of about a week with behavioral changes and progressive paralysis leading to death, and the capacity to transmit the virus by bites inflicted during the clinical period.”

As a cave explorer, we were warned to avoid direct contact to bats that are found in almost all local caves we frequented. Bats also live in people’s attics. Recall the phrase “bats in hs belfry”.

Bat disease study is a legitimate function of the CDC

This author and others continue to state COVID-19 only ... “marginal as a weapon of war.” Marginal? They took out two of our aircraft carriers without firing a shot. More than one tincan now showing up in port with sick sailors. Our economy has been trashed. Do these people think the F-35 could have been produced by a nation with a weak economy? The Chicoms “nuked us” and most do not even realize it...

I quit caving altogether when a caver caught inhaled rabies in a cave. Just about every cave we explored had quite a few Mexican Freetails. They all were in the “twilight” region so once you got deeper in the cave the risk went down but there’s no way to get in without going through regions that can be heavily covered in bat guano and dead bats.

Great start! Now refuse Chink manufactured products and products that include Chink manufactured parts, into this great country!

It’s literally what happened. Every major urban center is having outcomes very similar to having a small nuke detonated over each. Like Jimmy Carter’s “Neutron Bomb”.

But one wonders about the response in places where those in their 70s and 80s are a “liability” and this policy of “just send them back”. Notice they didn’t even do that with the “homeless” inn Boston and San Fran. Curious, eh? They knew better than just send the “homeless” back to their shelters but the retirees who had paid for their care got the shaft.

“...with no one

The USA buys Chinese products by the $$ billions$$ - Check any dollar store or convenience store. Many parts on any auto or other equipment. Most of our medicines are from China and on and on. Many, and I mean many, of the US manufacturers have their plants in China so as to reach the huge Chinese population even with Chinese communist restrictions. This is a major problem, not to taken lightly.

China did not act alone.

I don’t want to say who because it’s too hot.

But there are those on the inside that funded and equipped China and their Wuhan lab. Hard to believe but it’s true.

This is all part of the Chinese 30 year plan to overtake the United States as the supreme world power.
This is bio-warfare of the first magnitude whereby you protect your own, and release a bio-infection into the world.
The Chinese are still profiting from this infection release since after the Chinese govt. first became aware of the infection,
the government ordered Chinese businessmen around to world to secure PPEs, n-95 masks, and ventilators stockpiled around the world and send them to China.
The Chinese government effectively cornered the world market of almost all infection fighting equipment before notifying WHO and the world about the coronavirus.
They then utilized this equipment to fight the infection in their own country after infecting many of it's own citizens during New Years celebration,
and then isolated the source (Wuhan) after many of international visitors had already become infected.
However, the Chinese government, while restricting travel in their own country, they allowed international travel from Wuhan via air flights throughout the world.
These international visitors then spread the infection throughout the world .

The Chinese government and it's accompanying businesses continue to prosper and financially benefit,
by selling infection control equipment, at remarkably inflated prices to World-wide customers, including the United States.
In fact, some of the equipment being sold by the Chinese may be re-branded or original equipment manufactured elsewhere;
some of the equipment sold to the international community has been found to be defective and/or not up to government standards.
Most recently, California has purchased 5 million dollars worth of equipment from China;
talk about 'licking the hand of the source that beat you'.
The Chinese still prosper financially by inflated prices over equipment that they obtained by deception and obfuscation,
while complicit governments continue to pay them for the 'privilege' of receiving infection fighting equipment from the very source of the infection.
Given the above information, I believe there is evidence of economic and bio-warfare conducted by the Chinese government.
Furthermore, such actions indicate that the Chinese are following their "Thirty Year Plan" to overtake the United States as the supreme world power.
