Gov. Ducey [R - Arizona] extends Stay-At-Home Order despite more states moving to loosen COVID-19 restrictions

TUCSON - Gov. Doug Ducey announced Wednesday during a press conference that he decided to extend its Stay-At-Home order to May 15....On April 22, Ducey held a press conference announcing that the state will lift the COVID-19 restrictions on elective surgeries on May 1....

In an afternoon press conference held Wednesday, the governor shared that the Stay-At-Home order with modifications will be extended through May 15.

Ducey said one of the modifications will be a "phase-in" approach toward reopening the economy....

Governor Ducey says retail stores could start to softly open with social distancing starting May 4th and then expanded May 8th. Ducey says hoping to expanding dine-in sometime in May. He says best case scenario May 12th as he works with leaders in the industry.

When Ducey runs for Senate in 2022, to replace Mark Kelly (who is likely to beat the lackluster Martha McSally Ducey handpicked to cover McCain's seat from 2019-2020) - REMEMBER THIS!

7.3 million people. 308 deaths, and over half of those were in nursing homes. So under 150 deaths among 7.3 million people elsewhere.

From what I've seen today, people ARE going out, but we cannot use small businesses closed by Ducey's order. Gotta stick to WalMart and big chains. Ducey is another ball-less, phony, "Me Too" Establishment GOP woosie. And in 2022, he is likely to become Arizona's Senator after he is term-limited out of the Gov's office.

Sickening!

RECALL DUCEY! We’re in in Yavapai county. There are NO cases of the virus here in our town because the disease has been here and is gone. I think Ducey is going to have a problem on his hands. Can you say “civil disobedience?”

The state GOP is heavy ESTABLISHMENT in AZ. They fight tooth and nail - and DIRTY - to stop genuine conservatives. Think: Encourage Sheriff Joe to run to split the conservative vote and make it easy for McSally - KNOWN to be a pee-poor campaigner - to win the primary and run against Sinema. And McSally sucked so bad she LOST to Sinema!

But they don’t care. Ducey appoints McSally to McCain’s seat. She’s up for re-election in 2020. And if she loses to Mr Gabby Giffords in 2020, Ducey can leave the Gov’s office in 2022 and run against Mr Giffords (aka Gun grabber Mark Kelly). Right in plan. Ducey to save the day!

And he’ll be another Flake. Or another McCain.

We’re SOOOOOO screwed!

Are they still having a climb in new cases?

It is up to the governor to determine if it safe to lift. The voters should hold the governor accountable if the action are wrong.

As Arizona heats up the virus will continue to diminish and disappear.

This loser needs to be challenged at every county and major city level re letting us to be humans again.

Outside of nursing homes, we’ve had 150 deaths among 7.3 million people. Take out the Navajo deaths - a special subcase - and we’ve had under 100 deaths for the remaining 7 million people.

As for holding the Gov accountable - HOW? The media is 100% rat. When McSally ran for Senate, there was one debate. Almost no one watched. And McSally couldn’t be bothered to go town to town.

The Republican Party in Arizona is corrupt to the roots. Lots of great conservatives in the state, but access to air time is managed by democrats and RINOs. There just are not enough conservatives - genuine conservatives - to get the air time needed. And we don’t have a Trump capable of running around the media.

We’re screwed! Maricopa County is following in the footsteps of Pima County. Hard to be optimistic about the state.

IMHO that was the scheming Ducey’s plan all along. He chose McSally (who lost the 2018 US Senate race [for the other Arizona US Senate seat] to Kyrsten Sinema) BECAUSE she was proven to be NOT a good campaigner. He fully expects McSally to lose to Kelly in the 2020 Special election.

I hope McSally pulls off a come-from-behind victory and foils Ducey’s plans.

Daily deaths were ZERO for AZ yesterday. But the IMHE web site, which used to say AZ was past it’s projected peak by a couple of days, is now saying that the projected peaks for deaths is two days away.

This is in spite of the fact that AZ had no deaths yesterday. The projection had been changed in the last 24 hours!

You think Kelly, the king of gun grabbers, will win the senate seat? I don’t care how much McSally sucks, we don’t vote for authoritarian gun grabbers in Arizona statewide elections. Don’t believe it? Look at Ducey’s first election.

I used to come on this site and have my candidate, Kelli Ward, trashed by a bunch of out of state Rino’s pimping McSally. Now no one likes her. McSally has no charisma, but she’s better than McCain or Flake. Her voting record is fine. Certainly good enough for me.

Sinema had to cheat to beat her. She is good looking and played the moderate card. But now you tell me a bald headed, gun grabbing piece of shit can do what Sinema needed a week after the election was over to do. Good luck with that, Mr. Troll.

Ridiculous but I am not surprised (sadly). Actually, I was somewhat pleased that he is talking tough about not allowing cities to extend things even further (we have total nutbag mayors in Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff that would love to keep us inside through 2020). However, past experience with El Duce shows that tough talk from him only sometimes is followed up with actual action.
