THe DC metro started daily cleanings on March 6th.
We shut down low-use stations to make it easier to clean what was left.
We shut down the front and back cars, where the operators sit, to keep them safe.
We cut the hours, and cut the number of runs per hour, to force people to find other transportation.
This is how you handle things, not how New York did it.
And crowd the remaining passengers together. That's a fail.
“We cut the hours, and cut the number of runs per hour, to force people to find other transportation.”
That actually is a mistake NYC also made.
They should have maximized service in terms if trains and hours to decrease rider density as much as possible.
That said, DC was lower in deaths relative to other cities with high volume mass transit.
