CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The governor of North Carolina said Tuesday that NASCAR can go forward with the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway without fans in attendance at the end of May unless health conditions deteriorate in the state.

Gov. Roy Cooper said he and state public health officials have had discussions with NASCAR and the speedway regarding safety protocols for staging the race. Cooper said the state offered input on NASCAR's plan, but he believes the race can go forward on Memorial Day weekend for the 60th consecutive year.

“We believe that unless health conditions go down, we believe we can hold the Coca-Cola 600,” Cooper said.

He said NASCAR should have an announcement later this week.

YES !!! I wonder how many other Locals will Park outside the Track just to hear the Engine noise and maybe get a whiff of Hot Tyre Rubber ?

And with that thought I wonder how many people are going to be flying Drones over the Track ? It could be the first time in history of Racing that Rednecks get into a Hatfield and McCoy Ground to Air Battle blasting the others Drone with a Shotgun ?

The Captain has so much money that he could buy F1 and IMSA, too.

My hometown track (Stafford Springs) is in iRacing and it feels the same like it is in real life.

It's probably a blast to do. Watching someone else do it for hours just isn't my thing. Went to YouTube and viewed the 1953 Darlington Southern 500. That was pretty entertaining.

And he has three great drivers, including Connecticut’s Joey ‘Sliced Bread’ Logano. Brad Kesolowski and Ryan Blanket are great drivers, too. The Captain’s first win was with Mark Donahue with an AMX...
