And yet Barr and Trump remain silent. Is there anyone willing to stand up for the Constitution and our rights?

Good question...especially Barr.

Barr is going to do nothing. He is useless. Why Trump keeps him around I don’t know.

Trump does great, but he sometimes makes boneheaded decisions. Wish he would do something.

Are they waiting for hell to freeze over? It is frustrating.

Goodnight all.

Silent no longer...

Barr Orders U.S. Attorneys to Look for Civil Liberties Violations, ‘Take Action to Correct Them’ if Needed

Now we'll see if it's all talk.

...Barr and Trump remain silent.

Except that Barr has ordered US Attorneys to watch carefully for Constitutional violations by Governors in regard to COVID-related orders.

You don’t think he and Trump ever discussed this, do you?

Not totally conversant, but some Federal judges have already shot down various EOs by Governors that went over the Constitutional line. One about prohibiting ammunition purchases comes to mind. I am sure there are others. Perhaps protecting the right to assemble in peaceful protest, wrt to the state resistance demonstrations against stay-at-home?

Legislatures are suing Governors for overreach. Sheriffs are refusing to obey unconstitutional orders.

There are hierarchical steps involved and to know the US Attorneys have this power, backed by the DOJ, strengthens Constitutional rights.

I get the cynicism and frustration and share some of it re: convicting traitors. But neither Trump nor Barr have been silent on Governor overreach. They’ve let the legislatures and judiciaries know they have their back.

Long games are being played. We are in a war. There are hidden fronts we will learn of long after the battles are over. Actually, it may not take that long to find out, since it seems everything progresses more quickly than in the past.

Or maybe it just seems that way, since I am old.

No. Colorado used to be conservative. Then came the flood and our Republicans didn’t do anything.
