‘Some idiot in government must think most business’s have a 500% profit margin.’

what about masks in public places...? How can restaurants serve customers wearing f$%&#ing masks...?

I’d hardly say his plan is courageous. It’s actually quite timid and pathetic. Of course my POS Governor has us on lockdown indefinitely so who am I to talk?

This is NOT opening up TX, Gov Abbott.

25% occupancy for restaurants, starting May 1/Phase 1.

No barber shops, salons, bars and gyms cannot open in Phase 1.

If NO flare ups, during Phase 1, TX can advance to Phase 2, on Nay 18. At that point , 50% occupancy at restaurants.

Gov Abbott is following advice of Dr Scarf and CDC, closely.

No mandate on wearing masks. Recommended, but not mandated.

A contact tracing army (My word, not Abbott’s) formed. will have 4K tracers by phase 3.

Only, Gov Abbott is NOT letting her rip :-(

A weak approach, at most.

DeWine is waiting until May 12 to open retail stores, but allowing dentists to open May 1st.... Does that make any sense?..... Another 2 weeks before people can spend their money in stores.....remember when the whole lockdown was supposed to only last for 2 weeks?

I just read the article and the salons can not open until at least Mid May. I had an earlier appoint scheduled as well.

He’s lost my vote. Unless he turns around and opens it up—I’m not voting for him. I’ve had it. Done.

“Phase 1 will emphasize the importance of vulnerable populations remaining at home and encouraging businesses to help limit exposure to those most vulnerable. Senior living centers will enforce more CDC guidelines.”

In SC (Indian Land) there are food stores near me (Food Lion & Harris Teeter) which are maintaining their opening hours of 6 & 7 A.M. but are reserving the first 2 hours for those 65 & over.

I agree with you. It’s better than nothing, but just barely. Walmart, Target and Kroger have been full of people this whole time. If we can hang there, we can hang at TJMaxx. So infuriating.

We need to ALL contact him/his office, immediately.

The fact that he credited Dr Scarf so highly, is outrageous.

She’s been saying nothing outdoors can open til end of summer.

Aw crap.

I’ve been trimming my sides myself. I do not want to try and cut my own hair. Nor let Mrs. R2 have a go at it.

Ah well. I do have lots of thick silvery hair. I’m 61. I do have to say - I look maahhhhvelous.

Reading comments here, and in recent posts about Texas, I’m sorry that my Governor doesn’t have a time machine and can fulfill everyone’s desires about opening weeks ago. I’m satisfied - makes me glad I moved back home to Texas from a California where they have little hope.

I appreciated what he said at the end, if you want to stay home, stay home! That should stop the whiners about it being too soon. Probably won’t stop them, but it should.

I went to both Lowes and Home Depot last Saturday and Sunday.

Lowes’ parking lot was full both days - no restrictions that I could see.

Home Depot restricting the number of people in the store so there was a long, long line open to close. Parking lot pretty full also.

I’ll try again early one day this week to see how things are.

He catfished on the answer.
