From midnight last night

Sweden and It's Neighbors, Who Has the Best Tactic Againt COVID-19?

Sweeden is doing their own thing with regard to isolating. I think most people
are aware of it by now.

Here are some numbers to help us look at this issue.

I hate to say it, because I want people back at work, but it seems to me
that Sweden has shown what going back to work might wind up doing. I
don't think it has to be that way, if folks are careful. From what I've
seen it doesn't seem like the Swedish people are careful. I may be off
base on that though. I only know what I've seen presented in the limited
media I observe.

At the end of the day, we all have to find a median point between
destroying our societies and allowing too many deaths.

Finland is still looking good.

Yup. Actions have consequences.

Don’t bother telling that to the FR brigade of epidemiologists and infectious disease experts.

we can’t really compare unless we’re sure the (1) starting date and (2) seeding rates are similar.

Maybe the other countries will get to the same total deaths. just over a longer time.

IOW Sweden is farther along the curve/process with more widespread infiltration in the gen. pop.

In fact, isn’t that what this is supposed to be?

and the cases counts are an artifact of testing just the sick. Again, what we’d expect.

No one is doing gen. pop. testing and extrapolating the likely cases overall.

“Case Fatality” is a useless statistic. What is a case? Did every person who contracted the virus become a case? What was the definition of a fatality?

Try comparing the infection fatality rate.

Also, flattening the curve only saves lives by not overcrowding hospitals. If hospitals are not at capacity then the curve can be accelerated. Flattening the curve only prolongs the duration of spread. These other countries my end with similar death rates per capita once the virus has run its course.

The spread is not to be stopped only slowed.

I'm beginning to think this whole "Sweden has the answer" saga is a bunch of hoey.

Sweden's Deputy Prime Minister Isabella Lövin: 'The biggest myth about Sweden is that life is going on as normal'

Sweden had less deaths than Spain, Italy and the UK, on a per capital and absolute basis. This is a cherry picked study which doesn’t help
