South Korea could be saying this as it would be bad for their markets if Kim died and there were to be instability or fear o war or refugee crisis.

Not everything is some headfake. They are very serious about this sort of thing, and monitor the situation up there intensely so that they can protect their citizens, not to avoid “scaring” markets.
