My dad was a small town doctor (started practice in WW2 Pacific theatre). He would often advise his patients in old “home remedies”. One child he treated was chronically sick. His parents were hyper vigilant about keeping him and their house clean as a way to cure his colds etc.
My dad told them to give the kid a spoonful of dirt now and again as a way to build up his antibodies. (he'd lose his license over that today, I imagine)

I know all about the Spanish Flu. My son went through an illness with symptoms like COVID-19. He went through all the cytokine storm issues. He has spent nearly 300 days in the hospital in the last three years.
It can’t be fixed by sunlight and fresh air. Back then it was probably all they knew how to do.

Every little bit helps, but...you touched on a challenge w/regard to the sun’s anti-virus benefits, i.e., it’s impossible to get direct sun on most indoor surfaces. As far as I know, there are no anti-virus effects from sun that is filtered through glass.
In the 50’s my Mom, a RN, told me that hanging the wash out in the sun killed germs and made whites brighter.
Maybe that was just her way to get me to help her hang out the laundry.
So that grocery cart that has been standing out in the sunshine for a couple hours already is pretty well sanitized, and needs only a cursory wipe-down before you wheel it from the lot back into the store to shop.
Hahaha, so the cure to the COVID virus could be global warming........... gotta love irony!
Guess what the experts can do?
It involves physical anatomy.
There will be MUCH BIGGER problems than a virus that kills so few if we are in for the summer.

UV light neutralizes bacteria and viruses by damaging the DNA (RNA in the case of this virus and others).
Most people don’t have UV lamps to sterilize things, though.
