Three French doctors used a combination of azithromycin and zinc to treat hundreds of patients infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Inspired by Previous work on the combination of hydrochloroquine and azithromycin, three doctors practicing in the Moselle in northern France have tested a new treatment on hundreds of patients. Not able to prescribe chloroquine which can only be prescribed in hospital, they prescribed to their coronavirus patients the antibiotic azithromycin along with zinc to increase its effectiveness, while patients with asthma were also prescribed Singulair (montelukast), which has anti-inflammatory properties.
Dr. Gastaldi added that he prescribed this combination to over 200 patients. Statistically, among them he would have had at least 2 deaths and 40 hospitalizations. However, he explains that he had only two serious cases that required hospitalization and have since been discharged.
These encouraging results are reinforced by the diversity of his clientele of all ages and some with risk factors. One of Dr. Gastaldi colleagues, Dr. Erbstein, also stressed that none of his patients required hospitalization and so far none have died.
They also point out that azithromycin, unlike hydroxychloroquine, has fewer side effects and is widely prescribed for children and adults. I prescribe it long-term for people with chronic bronchitis, says Dr. Erbstein.
When asked by Le Parisien, the doctors admitted that it was not a randomized study at all, but claimed to have obtained some interesting results. One of the doctors suffering from Covid-19 took the same protocol to treat his coronavirus infection. I wasnt feeling well on Friday, but after taking the meds I was able to go back to work on Monday. This is the reaction of almost all my patients who said they were fine after three days, explains Dr. Gastaldi.
However, both doctors remain cautious. Both stress that this approach is very empirical. There are no comparative studies, explains Dr. Erbstein. Of course this is not a multicenter, randomized trial, but these are very interesting results, says Dr. Gastaldi. Can azithromycin prevent coronaviruses?
To find out if azithromycin works on coronavirus it will be the subject of another study that the Paris Hospital (AP-HP) is launching to test the drugs effectiveness in preventing the disease. 900 caregivers will participate in this study: 300 will receive chloroquine, 300 will receive azithromycin and 300 will receive a placebo. We should know the results when the study concludes in 70 days.
Gonna watch this....
I’m on singulair now.
Hmmm....
CC
I read about and linked a study a couple weeks back that showed Zithromax had anti viral properties. So I won’t be surprised if these Doctors are onto something.
Said study https://erj.ersjournals.com/content/36/3/646
And heres a good article about zinc.
https://academic.oup.com/advances/article/10/4/696/5476413
Thank you for that link. I went to the Wal Mart yesterday and bought the last bottle of Spring Valley Zinc 50mg per caplet.
The directions states that 50mg is 455% of daily intake so I’m cutting them in half so start with as I’m already taking a vitamin containing zinc.
Once again, thanks for the link.
50MG is fine. After 2 months on zinc, cut back to 25mg. zinc is found in lots of yummy foods. Eat lots of meat, oysters , veggies and nuts
Actually veggies have relatively little Zinc in general.....The meat, shellfish and nuts are good.
I think cutting them in half is a good idea, especially if they’re zinc caplets that don’t also include copper. Too much zinc and not enough copper can throw your system out of whack.
Just three?
Just a thought: What if it’s the zinc after all? Assume that’s the case:
First, a lot of people eat well and consume a lot of zinc in their diet. Maybe that explains what now appear to be a large number of people to contract the virus but don’t experience symptoms. The zinc onboard enabled their immune system to fight it off and build immunities in the process that now show up in antibody testing.
Second, if zinc stores are relatively low, then people experience symptoms, the degree dependent upon how low zinc stores are. Then maybe HCQ, acting as an ionophore, enables those low zinc stores to be used more efficiently, so HCQ appears to work on its own in those cases.
Third, if zinc stores are too low, HCQ fails, or is less effective in those cases (and symptoms are perhaps even worse too) but adding zinc remedies the problem. Maybe adding the zinc in sufficient amounts would even work without the HCQ?
If these doctors are finding good results, maybe they don’t need the antibiotic either, just the zinc? Just tossing this into the hopper for discussion. Lots of maybes.
I have both of those in my ‘doomsday’ stash.
Lots of maybes but seems plausible.
I did and are doing exactly what you described. I started about 6 weeks ago. I have azithromicyn that I ordered in January
If you want to get that zinc kicked into high gear add this, Quercetin 500 Mg (1 a day), when you take the zinc.
Quercetin is a zinc ionophor, which is what the HQC is, only HQC is a VERY good zinc ionophor. Chloroquine is as well.
But the Quercetin will absolutely get the job done.

And you don’t have to be half dead in a hospital to get it.

And the other posts about the copper are correct, You can get copper in the 2.5 to 3 mg a day range as well.

(Just repying to everyone on this thread in case anyone is interested)
Here are a couple of papers i ran across considering the potential of zinc. They’re not studies but there’s a lot of information about zinc in them. The second one focuses on zinc deficiency.
Can Zinc correction in SARS-CoV-2 patients improve treatment outcomes?
https://www.preprints.org/manuscript/202004.0094/v1/download
“In the western world, Zinc deficiency is more prevalent among the geriatric population26 and vegans/vegetarians as well as among people with certain underlying conditions27.”
Thanks FreedomForce!
I’d be surprised if that was true. That would be cool, but . . .
