this building is not going to be saved. I have read of the engineering reports. It is in bad shape. They hid it from the populace because they were afraid of a backlash.
The building had a lead roof on it, why would they be surprised to find lead?
Why do they say “it has been suspected” regarding the cause of the fire? Weren’t they going to do an investigation into the cause of the fire? Was that ever done? They make it sound as if, after a whole year, we still can only guess about the cause of the fire; as if there had not been an investigation.
Sad to lose a World Heritage magnificent church that was built by hand by pius believers in the Middle Age.
