The city council of Greenville, Miss. and Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons issued an executive order that banned all in-person church services, effective from April 7 until Missouri Gov. Tate Reeves lifts the states stay-at-home order. Fox News reported many churches planned to drive-in services as a means of negotiating the need for social distancing with in-person services, especially during Easter week.

In the Christian spirit of unity, Mayor Simmons pushed a message of One People, One Goal, and One Greenville to promote unity and foster togetherness when he became mayor in 2016. The community has taken on the call to unify and work more collectively for a better Greenville. Keeping God as the center of his administration, Simmons first initiative was a faith-based one entitled, Worship on the Water where faith-based leaders across the Mississippi Delta joined him for such announcement. Worship on the Water is a nationally recognized, interfaith, interracial initiative that fosters community and promote unity on the fifth Sunday, of every month purposed on bringing people together regardless of racial identity or religious affiliation. Simmons states, Psalm 100 demands us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. On the fifth Sunday of every month, residents and citizens come and worship at the water on our levee front to make a joyful noise together in corporate worship. Folks are not restricted by the color of their skin nor confined by their churches addresses. We come to exalt God as one community. Worship on the Water received the U.S. Conference of Mayors 2017 City Livability Outstanding Achievement Award presented by President Bill Clinton.
Stinking hypocrite, draping himself with the trappings of religion. And it's probably some faux leftist claptrap worship group if it got an award from a leftist co-opted organization, presented by a Clinton.

If reasonable steps like social isolation were taken, this church service would have no more risk of contracting the virus than going to a grocery store. Let us all remember how our governors and local officials behaved like jack booted thugs when we go to the polls in November.

Unless you are a member of one of the Communist, a/k/a Democrat Organizations, Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA, etal. it is a good way to get an ass full of lead. The police won’t be near as tolerant or patient or understanding with you as they are them.

The mayors of the medium cities and large cities are often some of the worse Hitler wannabees.
The control their police forces, and often their Police Chiefs are hostile lesbians, who hate men, real women and Christians.

From your POV we should never meet them. At least not during flu season. Which is what, 4-5 months every year?
Scripture NEVER gives a reason to cancel worship.
Hygienic practices can be kept. In this case they were having a DRIVE UP PARKING LOT SERVICE.

This town had an arson incident involving a black church, where Trump slogans were spray painted on the outside.
This mayor jumped on the hate crime bandwagon until... it turn out the perpetrator was an African-American.

Here is this mayor complaining about an arson fire at a black church a couple of years ago:
Miss. fire chief: Blaze at African-American church was arson
Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons called the arson, and the spray-painted phrase "Vote Trump," a a hate crime "intended to interfere with worship and intimidate voters."

Hmmm... "intended to interfere with worship and intimidate voters," really?
Anyway, they did find out who had set fire to the church, it was an African-American.

So let me get this straight ...
You're going to sit there in New York City and criticize religious leaders in the South and Midwest for holding religious services where everyone attends VOLUNTARILY?
If an elderly person shows up at a crowded place and gets sick and dies as a result of exposure to a virus, whose fault is that?
Are we free people, or not?

Take a look at the county-level results from the 2016 election below. With the exception of Oklahoma, every U.S. state had at least one county that voted for Hillary Clinton. Look how many blue counties -- and how many DARK blue counties -- there are in some of those states down South.
I can almost guarantee you that every place where police shut down religious services on Easter was in one of these blue counties.

The tree of liberty is sometimes watered with the blood of patriots.
But a peaceful gathering, in the public street, surely would not be met with gun fire. If it is, then the police officer should be charged with murder.

Churches in South Carolina were open for Easter services. Statement from the South Carolina governor McMaster:
“I can’t speak for other governors but this governor is not going to intrude on the First Amendment. That is an absolute right. We are encouraging pastors and others and any house of worship and any congregation of any kind to use social distancing. That is go online.”
McMaster encourages churches to “keep doing it that way or have the service outside with social distancing or if you must have a congregation under a roof then use that social distancing. But that First Amendment right is very important, just like the others. We are respecting that.”

I can almost guarantee you that every place where police shut down religious services on Easter was in one of these blue counties. I can tell you unequivocally that the county where this happened is one of those blue counties and the Representative is the Communist Affirmative Action Bennie Thompson. Mississippi is primarily a red state for the moment except along the Delta which is 90% black and racist.

They need to know that enforcing an illegal order makes them as guilty as the person issuing the order.
