Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday thanked his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for rushing a five-tonne cargo of medicines, including anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, seen as a possible cure for COVID-19.
"Thank you, my dear friend @narendramodi, Prime Minister of India, for sending Chloroquine to Israel. All the citizens of Israel thank you!", Netanyahu said in a tweet Thursday evening.
The Israeli’s PM’s thanked India two days after a plane carrying materials used to make medicines for treating coronavirus patients arrived in Israel from India on Tuesday.
The five tonne shipment included ingredients for drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, being seen worldwide as the best possible cure as of now for treating COVID-19 patients.
The dreaded coronavirus has infected nearly 10,000 people in Israel and claimed 86 lives. As many as 121 others are on ventilators in serious condition.
The Indian consignment reached Israel within days after Netanyahu spoke to Modi on April 3, requesting supply of hydroxychloroquine, with India being the world’s largest producer and exporter of the drug.

Great nations of the world have to work together to remain sovereign and to do what’s needed to protect your citizens from enemies foreign and domestic.
Modi has been nothing less than a hero to share this cure when all others are hoarding it for themselves.
PM Netanyahu has been in touch for weeks with NY Hasidic community Dr. ‘Zev’ Zelenko, so he’s fully briefed and knows this cure is highly successful.
But it is anecdotal!
And it has side effects! (unlike other drugs)
And it will deprive Lupus sufferers!
Although Dr. House says it is never Lupus, so now I am really confused.
Modi is a hero, and India knows how to be an ally. Five star rating is not nearly high enough.

why would Netanyahu do that? after all, every commentator on CNN, MSNBC, CNN and the rest of the fake stream enemedia have declared that this drug is untested, unproven, dangerous, doesn’t work, and shouldn’t be used under any condition ...

Interesting given that, as Eagles6 noted, Teva Pharmaceuticals has been shipping the medication to the US, 6 million doses of the first ten donated. Guess they should have kept a little more. Reminiscent of the days in the Gulf war where, due to ammunition shortages, Israel would ship small arms ammunition to the US for use in training, we'd ship US made ammo to the mideast. Didn't want to kill terrorists with Israeli ammo and risk offending them. These do dependent supply chains are a good thing when you can trust the participants, not so good when, as with China, you can't
