Yes they did.

I Love that England elected someone sensible and did Brexit.

But we, as conservatives, don’t believe in history being rewritten to fit an agenda.

They were brutal.

Now they are (I still think) one of our most loyal allies.

It is what it is.

Yeppers dp0622, the Brits were brutal on many occasions.

But what confused the Brits was Gandhi’s methods of non-violent protests. The Brits were in shock to see Gandhi simply turned the other cheek. But my own theory is that the only reason Brits gave up their crown colony of India was that their soldiers were suffering from exhaustion by the time WWII ended in early 1940’s, and India gained independence in 1947. So in an ironic way Indians can thank Hitler for their independence.
