Developing “herd immunity” for the greater part of your population is essential if you were weaponizing a virus. Scientists may have determined that repeated exposures to more benign subtypes of corona virus may have resulted in cross immunity to COVID-19. Imagine the unthinkable that the Wusan population was left vulnerable, allowed to become infected and then dispatched around the world to start a pandemic for political, economic and military purposes. If true it would be a causus belli. Therefore very much doubt that even if Trump or other Western leaders had absolute proof, they would never tell the public.
